LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American basketball professional who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. The player is referred to as King James and is considered to be one of the best basketball players ever. James has been the recipient of four NBA Championships as well as four NBA MVP Awards as well as the four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He has also won the distinction of having two Olympic gold medals. James scored more points during the playoffs. He also has the second highest number of career points, and ranks seventh among career assists. He was named to be an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times and on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. Ten NBA Finals is the most ever, including eight in a row from 2011 to 2018; James was also chosen to join the team for NBA's 75th anniversary. James was chosen to be part of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He was the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebound and assists in 2022. James was a student at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in his hometown from Akron Ohio and was heavily advertised by national media as a potential NBA superstar. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. Following his selection as 2004's NBA Rookie Of The Year, he quickly became a top player in the NBA winning the NBA's MVP award both in 2009 and 2010 James was a free agency in 2010, after he failed to win championships with Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland for Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent moves in sports history.
