Awkwafina was initially a American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer could make a few songs. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop in her teen years. Following a focus on education, she graduated with an education in journalism at university and also a women's study specialization. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. It eventually made it in the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitchethe cost of $. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in 2015, which was an additional project. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. Now she was looking to expand her career into acting. Aside from early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several notable films like Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
