Linda Edna Cardellini is the daughter of Lorraine (Hernan), a mother, and Wayne David Cardellini (a father), who is a businessman. Her parents are of Italian, German (from the paternal maternal grandmother), Irish and Scottish descendance. Linda grew up within her native San Francisco Bay area, California, the youngest of four kids. She studied at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and made her debut on the British television series Just William (2010). James then played the role of Countess Natasha Rostova, in the TV version of War & Peace, in 2016. She also appeared in a number of films. We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday 2019 We Go again (2018) and Yesterday 2019 Pam & Tommy, a biographical TV series that is based on the story of Pamela Anderson (released in 2022), earned her nominations for a Golden Globe Award winner and a Primetime Emmy Award.
